Day 28 of 100 Day Challenge: Don’t Worry Be Happy

Published by Lorne S. Wellington on

The other day I said Step 1 to thriving on the road less traveled is to get a job that meets all of your basic needs. I can imagine the side eyes and voiced concerns you had for me, especially if you have families. I get it, trust me I get it. I know about delayed gratification, I know about bill collectors calling and I know about responsibilities. That is why I said to get a job/keep your job and to scale back.

Don’t Worry Be Happy

The song “Don’t Worry Be Happy” is a feeling I ask you to embrace as you move from mainstream to your stream. Shifting your focus from the challenges and obstacles makes room for the goodness to come in. Choosing to be happy is a habit worth cultivating. One way I reinforced happiness was through books. Three books to get you started are “Simple Abundance” by Sarah Breathnach, “Let The Magic Begin” by Cathy Lee Crosby and of course, The Bible. I read each book and did the exercises contained within.

There are serval ways to invoke happiness, the point I making is chose happiness everyday all day. Below are some of the activities I use to allow the joy in and they are:

  1. Keeping a gratitude journal
  2. Making a list of 100 blessings in your life
  3. Do a focus wheel
  4. Playing the what if game
  5. Meditate/Pray
  6. Be a blessing to someone
  7. Volunteer
  8. Take a walk in nature
  9. Burn your fear
  10. Got outside and play

Try them all or one (for at least 30 consecutive days) and let me know how they worked for you.

Until Tomorrow…
